How to obtain an Excellence Bursary at Aberystwyth

You do not need a special application form. All that is required is that you apply to Aberystwyth by 30 June of the year of entry, choose Aberystwyth as your 'Firm' choice for one of the eligible schemes, acheive the equivalent of 320 UCAS tariff points from three full A-levels (or equivalent qualifications, e.g. International Baccalaureate - click here for a list of some European qualifications) and meet the terms of your offer of a place to study at Aberystwyth fully (e.g. if asked to get a B in Biology, this must be included within your 320 points).

All candidates fulfilling these conditions, will automatically be eligible for an Excellence Bursary (subject to the Regulations indicated below) over the full duration of their course at Aberystwyth. Successful candidates will be notified of their award prior to the start of commencement of their studies.

Excellence Bursaries will be paid direct to holders' UK bank accounts in two instalments each year - the first payment will be in December, and the second in March.

Please note that if you hold an Excellence Bursary but change to an ineligible course, payments will discontinue.
