Postgraduate Courses

The School of Education and Lifelong Learning was formed in 2003 as a merger between the Department of Education and the Centre for Continuing Education. Education is a lifelong process and there should be some course for everyone at whatever stage you are at in life.

Research students in the school have recently successfully completed theses leading to the degrees of MPhil and PhD. Research supervision is available in a number of areas, including childhood studies, rural education and pedagogic research.

All Initial Teacher Education and Training is now provided by the North and Mid Wales Centre of Teacher Education. Aberystwyth and Bangor Universities work collaboratively under the Centre name to provide training in PGCE Secondary subjects within this region.
