Biography

Patrizia Kokot joined the School of Management and Business in 2010. She completed her PhD at the Gender Institute of the London School of Economics and her Master’s degree in Economics at Maastricht University in the Netherlands . Prior to joining the department, she worked as a financial journalist for Thomson Reuters, dpa-AFX and the Swedish Wire. She is a guest lecturer at the Department of Management at LSE and the Department of Management, People and Information at the University of Passau in Germany . Patrizia's research focuses on women’s experiences of career advancement and how these experiences differ cross-nationally, in order better to understand how advancement is negotiated in organizations with regard to the intersections of gender, race, class and sexuality. Works in progress include a cross-national comparative study to be located in Poland, Estonia and the United States . In addition, Patrizia is currently working on a project examining class and leadership formation in organized crime.
