Biography

 

Sangeeta Khorana lectures on International Business, Development Economics, International Financial Regulation, and European Economy. She is also the Deputy Director for Centre of European Studies in the Department of International Politics and a member of the SMB’s Centre for International Business and Public Policy.

She holds a Ph.D. in International Economics from the University of St. Gallen, and a summa cum laude Masters degree in International Law and Economics from the World Trade Institute, Switzerland. Other qualifications include MA (Economics) from Allahabad University in India. Sangeeta is a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and won a university Teaching Excellence Award winner for 2010.

Research Interests:

Dr Khorana’s research focuses on: Free Trade Agreements, Government Procurement, and Indian Economy.

She has a track record of generating research income and completed projects for the Foreign and Commonwealth office, British High Commission, UNCTAD-India, European Commission, and the Swiss Federal government. Current research project, for Consumer Unity and Trust Society (CUTS) looks at government procurement liberalisation by India, and this has been funded by the British High Commission in India. She has also been invited by the European Parliament’s International Trade Committee to provide evidence on the EU-India Free Trade Agreement, for which negotiations are ongoing.
