In choosing to study Economics at Aberystwyth you will be learning a dynamic subject focused on understanding the broadest role of Economics in today’s business and society. You can study Economics on its own in our Single Honours degree, or in Major or Joint degrees with other subjects such as Accounting and Finance, Geography, International Politics, Law, Management, Marketing, Psychology or a European Language. We also offer an Economics Minor in combination with various subjects. You can also pursue a Business Economics variant.
Choosing to study with us means you will be taught by a team of active researchers who are all acknowledged in the latest UK research-assessment exercise (RAE) to be producing internationally excellent research output.
Your undergraduate degree schemes in Economics are based on lectures and small-group seminars. They combine the rigour that you would expect in a traditional university with the practical skills that are essential in today’s business world.

Economic Principles and Skills, Mathematics for Economics and Finance, Financial Management, Statistics for Economists, Management Skills, Intermediate Microeconomics, Intermediate Macroeconomics, Econometrics, Oligopoly and Game Theory, Uncertainty and Asymmetric Information and Topics in Macroeconomics.Elective modules include a wide selection of Economics-related modules such as
International Trade and Trade Policy, Regional Economics, Development and Transition Economics, Corporate Governance, Labour Economics, and Industrial Policy. When you successfully complete an Economics or Economics related degree you will have earned a degree which is highly rated by employers and typically attracts a particularly high level of graduate salary. When you have graduated from Economics with us you will have developed a diversity of transferable and problem-solving skills, highly valued in both the private and public sector, and possess an enviable range of analytical and quantitative techniques with an emphasis on practical application.
