Profile

Fergus completed an undergraduate degree in Sport and Exercise Science at Heriot Watt University in July 2008, during which he was involved in a research project that utilised a novel form of exercise as a possible treatment for diabetes (subsequently published in the British Medical Council Journal of Endocrine Disorders, as detailed see below). During his degree Fergus worked as an Assistant Fitness Coach for the Scottish Rugby Union prior to the 2007 Rugby World Cup and since graduating Fergus spent a year working for the England and Wales Cricket Board, recruiting and training Umpires and Scorers. Fergus started his PhD in January 2010 under the supervision of Dr Jo Wallace and Dr Rhys Thatcher.
