Learning & Teaching
At Aberystwyth University the development of quality learning and teaching provision is considered a fundamental of academic practice. The Academic Office oversees Quality Assurance and enhancement of teaching and learning and all academic staff involved in teaching are required to familiarise themselves with the Quality Handbook for Staff.

Staffing Committee has adopted a number of procedures with regard to the probationary period, details of which are set out on the Human Resources website. One provision is that, all new academic staff with a teaching commitment and less than five years teaching experience, are required to successfully complete the Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education awarded at M Level and accredited by the Higher Education Academy.

The Centre for the Development of Staff and Academic Practice (CDSAP) designs and delivers much of the educational and professional development of staff at the University.
