  1. Before you start your course check your eligibility for financial support from both statutory and discretionary sources. Visit the Student Finance website for the country relevant to you
  2. Make sure you apply in good time as many funds have deadlines for receipt of applications or take some time to process.
  3. Find out whether you might be eligible for help from charities or trusts. Often help is dependent on the type of course you study or where you live or even your parents occupational background.

  5. If you are a single parent or mature student with a family you may be entitled to claim benefits such as Tax Credits or Housing Benefits
