Academic life

Let's face it, you are here to get a great qualification; and a world-class academic life is part of the balance that will ensure you get the very most from your university choice.

For you to have a complete academic life you'll need access to the best facilities. Here are just a few of ours:

  • Group Project Computer Suites: PJM & Rosser Lounges
  • Five fully-stocked libraries
  • Brand new laboratories
  • Very close natural field work areas
  • National Library of Wales
  • Onsite bookshops
  • Top of the range 24 hour computer rooms
  • Modern lecture rooms
  • The Student Support Services
  • But we don't just stop there...

Great facilities alone won't guarantee that you will get a quality qualification. What use are facilities if you don't have members of staff who can teach you the most up-to-date degree material in your subject area? The good news is that our academic staff are internationally renowned, as the results from the latest Research Assessment Exercise show.

To make sure you gain the best qualification we also give you the help and support necessary to make your study time a little easier to get through. We pride ourselves on our sense of community and friendliness; so if you need help on any matter a friendly member of staff will always be on hand to help you.

Finally, we understand that getting a qualification is only the beginning to a successful career. Our in-depth Careers Advisory Service, gives you the perfect platform for when you leave university: we're not just interested in getting you a world class education - we want to see you on your career path too.

The lecture halls and libraries are really good, and the National Library has a copy of every book ever published in the UK - which is incredibly handy. Most computer rooms are available 24hours a day which again is incredibly handy.
