A Word About Finance
Fees
Students must ensure that their financial obligations with regard to the payment of tuition and/or University accommodation fees are in place by the beginning of each Academic Session. Full payment options and further information can be found at http://www.aber.ac.uk/en/student-finance.
Assistance for Students
If you are a full-time or part-time Home student and you are in severe financial difficulties, you can be considered for help from the Financial Contingency Fund.
If you are an undergraduate, your application can only be considered if you have already applied for your full Student Loan. This is due to Government regulations and is out of our control.
The Fund is administered by Student Support and provides assistance by means of grants or short term loans. You may be considered if you fall into one of the following groups:
- you need extra financial help to meet particular costs which:
- are not already being met from statutory (or other) sources of funding;
- to provide emergency payments for unexpected crises;
- to intervene in cases where a student may be considering leaving higher education because of financial problems.
However, grants or loans may be given for other purposes where there is a demonstrated need.
These Funds are provided by the Welsh Government on a year by year basis.
If you are having difficulty in managing your money you are strongly advised to meet with our Student Money Doctor
