What is AberForward?
AberForward comprises a range of employability initiatives designed to help our students and recent graduates gain relevant and useful work experience. Our schemes allow participants to develop a range of valuable, transferrable skills and supports the recognition of these skills so that participants feel more confident entering the job market after graduation. We provide a number of placements that each present an invaluable opportunity to participate in meaningful work experience.
What we offer...
We currently offer three different schemes for students and recent graduates of Aberystwyth University.
The AberForward Summer Scheme is open to current second year and third year undergraduates to undertake full-time, paid work experience across the University. The summer placements offer a taster of a professional working environment that can help you to develop work-based knowledge and raise your confidence in finding future employment opportunities.
The AberForward Graduate Scheme allows the return of our recent undergraduates, a few months after graduating, to undertake paid work experience on the University’s campuses. These placements are ideal for those graduates who have found themselves either unemployed or underemployed since graduation. The graduates attend a series of workshops to develop the skills and knowledge that will help them to succeed in a competitive graduate job market.
The AberForward Internship Scheme provides an invaluable opportunity for recent undergraduates to undertake a fully paid internship that will expose you to the challenging and stimulating business of the Higher Education sector. There are opportunities across many disciplines at the University and these placements are ideal for ambitious and talented graduates who wish to make their first inroads into a successful career in Higher Education.
