Professor Tsu-Chung Su of the Department of English, National Taiwan Normal University will be a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Theatre, Film and Television Studies starting Sept. 1st. He has been awarded 12 months of fellowship by the National Science Council, Taiwan ROC, and will be based in our Department for a year. During this period, Professor Su will be undertaking research on En-Gendering the Festive Spirit: Examining Women’s Creative and Networking Power in The Magdalena Project. He will work closely with Lecturer Jill Greenhalgh, founder and Artistic Director of The Magdalena Project and a Lecturer in Performance Studies in our Department. Professor Su was a Visiting Scholar at Harvard University in 08/2002-01/2003 and a Fulbright Scholar at Princeton University in 08/2007-02/2008. His areas of interest cover performance studies, Nietzsche and his French legacy, psychoanalysis, and feminism. His recent publications include essays on Antonin Artaud, Eugenio Barba, Peter Brook, Jerzy Grotowski, Richard Schechner and Robert Wilson. He will be based in the Centre for Performance Research and looks forward to meeting all of you.
