Research Group Details
The Department along with the Mercator Institute for Media, Languages and Culture is responsible for convening the Minority Languages Research Group at Aberystwyth University in collaboration with other academic departments. It is an interdepartmental group supporting research in different academic disciplines undertaken by staff and postgraduate students conducting comparative research and/or using ‘minority languages’* as a concept or a theoretical framework.
*it is acknowledged that this is but one of many terms used in the field of study
Two to three research seminars are hosted every year, with at least one presented in Welsh and at least one presented in English.
Contributions are sought from Aberystwyth University staff and postgraduate students as well as scholars from other institutions. Please contact Elin Haf Gruffydd Jones esj@aber.ac.uk if you have any suggestions.
