Undergraduate Information

Aberystwyth and Area

The University is set in beautiful unspoilt scenery on the shores of Cardigan Bay. The beach has consistently been awarded the EU blue flag for cleanliness. The landscape, flora and fauna in the Aberystwyth area are quite outstanding. Several sites of special scientific interest are close to the University. Red kites regularly fly over the campuses and bottlenosed dolphins can be seen offshore. As a major tourist centre, Aberystwyth has a wealth of restaurants and good places to eat and plenty of general activities and facilities.

"There are so many advantages in choosing to spend three years here. The people, the sea, the scenery and the atmosphere all combine to give you a cracking university experience."
The Guardian University Guide

"Friendliness and fellow feeling fills the air and many love the cosy community atmosphere so much they have to be unglued from the campus after graduation."
The Push Guide to Which University

"Aberystwyth's cultural and gastronomic life is an ebullient, all-year-round affair, thriving on students in term time, visitors in the summer. As well as a varied range of pubs and restaurants, the town is a good place to hear music and a lively centre for theatre and cinemas."
