Why did you choose Aberystwyth?

I came here after leaving the army, and I just decided I wanted to go to uni. I wanted to go back into the army as an officer.

How easy was it to settle in?

The department’s really helpful. I’m really not the cleverest guy in the world but I have so much help from my tutors, and people in my class as well.

What are the academic facilities like?

The library is amazing, you always get lost! I love books, and you can get lost here. There are so many libraries, and the National Library is amazing – people bring you books, you don’t have to look for them at all! Just tell them what you want and they bring it up to you! But you can’t take them out of the National Library, but it’s an amazing place, even if you don’t like books… there's just so much.

What do you like best about Aberystwyth?

Everything, I love the place. In the summer the place is amazing. The beach is a stony beach, but not so far from here you have Ynyslas, which is all sand and sand dunes and it's beautiful and it's by far my favourite place.
