Brynderw
Brynderw is next to the University School of Art, down in the town. With a great community feel, it is one of the University’s smaller Halls, housing just 150 students.
Brynderw is within five minutes walk of:
- the seafront and the coastal paths
- the Old College
- the Departments of Art, Education and Welsh
- the town centre shops, restaurants and entertainment venues
- the town Sports Centre
- the train and bus stations.
and within fifteen minutes walk of:
- all other academic Departments
- the University Libraries
- the Students’ Union
- Aberystwyth Arts Centre
- the University Sports Centre
- the National Library of Wales.
Brynderw is ideally for students of Fine Art and Art History and offers all students a location part way between town and the main campus, within very easy reach of both.
Accommodation
Brynderw has about 150 students in individual study-bedrooms within self-contained flats, each with shared bathroom and kitchen, and designed to accommodate between 4 and 6 students. All bedrooms have connections to the University network and the Internet. There is no onsite laundry, so most Brynderw students use the convenient town launderette nearby.
Catering
Students in Brynderw are self-catering, sharing kitchens in their self-contained houses. This is probably the best-located of all our Halls for shopping. Students here can shop anywhere in the town, and they are really close to everything from low-cost supermarkets to specialist delicatessens and fine food outlets. Brynderw residents also have easy access to the town’s many restaurants, cafes, takeaways and pubs.
