Clarendon House is situated on the sea-front close by the Old College, the University’s original building, which now houses the Departments of Education and Welsh. Many of the rooms command fine views of sea.

Clarendon House is within five minutes walk of:

  • the seafront and the coastal paths
  • the Old College
  • the Departments of Education and Welsh
  • the town centre shops, restaurants and entertainment venues
  • the train and bus stations.

and within fifteen minutes walk of:

  • all other academic Departments
  • the University Libraries
  • the Students’ Union
  • Aberystwyth Arts Centre
  • the University Sports Centre
  • the National Library of Wales.

Accommodation

Clarendon House is newly renovated to modern standards. It houses Postgraduate students in en-suite study-bedrooms within self-contained flats. The flats accommodate anything between four and ten students: the larger flats have two shared kitchens each, the smaller flats one. All the study-bedrooms are single rooms and all have connections to the University network and the Internet. There are onsite laundry facilities

Catering

Students in Clarendon House are self-catering, sharing kitchens in self-contained flats. They have the great advantage that they can shop easily anywhere in the town, from low-cost supermarkets to specialist delicatessens and fine food outlets. Clarendon residents also have easy access to the town’s many restaurants, cafes, takeaways and pubs.
