Dynamic student-centred learning
We look to match the talent and enthusiasm of our students with the talent, enthusiasm and expertise of our staff. Many of our students come with clear ambitions and aspirations about their future careers; whilst others have some idea that they want to work in a commercial environment but are less sure what kind of specialism they might like to follow. Whatever stage you are at in deciding what you would like to do with your life, studying at Aberystwyth will give you an outstanding chance to explore your talents and capabilities and develop your skills, whilst gaining detailed knowledge of a wide range of employment possibilities and market opportunities.
The culture of teaching at Aberystwyth is supported by strong academic expertise and extensive use of the latest learning technology. Much of your course will be taught in seminars and other small group contexts, so that you gain confidence in sharing your own ideas and listening to the ideas of others and build up vital skills of co-operation and teamwork. There is also strong one-to-one support in regular tutorials to sustain your personal academic development.
A key feature of the Aberystywyth SMB experience is the chance to learn from entrepreneurs and business professionals active in the market-place. With their guidance and support, you will engage in the study and analysis of projects which are actually already in commercial operation, or which have the potential to become so in the immediate future.
