Countryside Courses

The Rural Sciences Section of the Aberystwyth Institute of Biological Environmental Sciences offers Countryside degree courses at BSc and Foundation level, as well as HNDs in all branches of the Rural Sciences. Aberystwyth is an important centre for countryside tourism and recreation, situated as it is at the northern end of the newly completed Ceredigion Coastal Path, and in the shadow of the Cambrian mountains. For Countryside Conservation courses, there are two national parks within easy travelling distance: Snowdonia to the north and the Pembrokeshire Coast to the south. Meanwhile, our Countryside Management courses build on Aberystwyth's excellent and longstanding reputation in Agricultural Studies. Increasingly also, the Institute's expertise in the Environmental Sciences is brought to bear on Countryside degree courses. If you are interested in the sustainable development and management of the rural environment, there is sure to be a Countryside or Rural Sciences course for you at Aberystwyth.
