Equine Science/Studies at Aberystwyth University
As the longest established provider of equine courses in the UK, starting in the 1970s, we have an established reputation for providing excellent graduates for a whole range of careers within the industry. As such we can guarantee you a high-quality equine education with all the advantages of a traditional university atmosphere. The Institute has superb facilities, including a large Equine Teaching Centre, a dedicated Equine Research Centre and a DIY yard, all of which have indoor and outdoor arenas, up to international size; horse walker; round pen; weigh bridge; stables and foaling boxes with CCTV; demonstration areas; laboratories etc. You will be taught by experienced staff, many with an international research reputation and others with an international background of working and training within the industry, providing you with a truly 21st century approach to equine science and studies. All staff are dedicated to providing you with a high-quality education and training within a friendly supportive learning environment.

Facilities
Excellent on-campus equine facilities include an international sized indoor arena, manège, cross-country course, stabling and grazing. We have a number of on-campus livery stables for students who wish to bring their own horses.
Lluest Equine Centre is a British Horse Society ‘where to train’ riding establishment. All Aberystwyth University students have the opportunity to work towards BHS qualifications in Horse Care and Equitation. All levels are catered for from BHS Stage One through to Full Instructor certificate.
