D325 - BSc Equine Studies Degree - 1 year top-up to HND or Foundation Degree in Equine Studies or an equine related subject.

Equine Studies

This modular scheme leads to the award of a BSc degree, and is specifically designed for those who have successfully completed an approved HND or foundation degree in equine studies.  To gain entry to the scheme you will need to have achieved merit level, or above, in at least 75% of the credits in your HND or foundation degree.

You will study a combination of modules including equine stud management, animal breeding, advanced equine nutrition, applied animal behaviour and welfare and equine business management.  You also prepare a dissertation or a literature review on a subject of your own choice which contributes to your final assessment, and allows you to pursue a topic of particular interest in depths.

Facilities

Excellent on-campus equine facilities include an international sized indoor arena, manège, cross-country course, stabling and grazing.  We have a number of on-campus livery stables if you wish to bring your own horse.

Career Opportunities

This scheme equips you for the management and supervision of equine enterprises in the UK and abroad, and for a wide range of advisory, commercial and educational work in the equine and rural sector. The business management skills acquired are also readily transferable to other sectors of commerce and industry.
