The aim of the degree in Information Management is to produce well qualified graduates for a particularly significant and growing sector of the information sector. We live in a society which is characterised by its developing need to gain access to information. The designers and managers of information systems, whose role it is to satisfy that need, face tasks of growing responsibility and complexity. This Information Management degree will equip you with the required understanding of the business context and with expertise in the design, development and management of information systems in corporate institutions of varying sizes: from small businesses and professional practices to major conglomerates and consultancies. Graduates of the Aberystwyth Information Management degree go on to employment in key areas of many such organisations.
As a student on this Information Management degree, you will learn about the management of the total information resources of organisations - not only information held within a computer system, but also paper, visual and voice-based information. It includes an understanding of information technology and an ability to use it selectively to achieve the organisation's objectives.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to take a Work Placement module, putting your new skills into practice, and the opportunity to write a final year Dissertation: a longer piece of work based on research and analysis of a topic in which you have a particular interest.
