European Politics degree at Aberystwyth

This European Politics degree scheme combines a general background in international affairs with a specific focus on European politics. Is the development of the EU an example of the most ambitious and far-reaching international cooperation in the world? How can the countries of Central and Eastern Europe deal with the legacies of Communism?

But the Aberystwyth European Politics degree also looks beyond the role of the nation-states to examine attempts by non-state nations and regions to develop political autonomy. It examines, also, how European politics affects politics both in the UK as a whole and in the different nations which make it up.

By the end of the European Politics degree students should possess: an awareness and understanding of key issues and debates in contemporary European politics; a general understanding of the major issues, approaches and debates in International Politics; and specific expertise in areas of European politics in which they have chosen to specialise. A degree in European Politics equips graduates for a wide range of careers related to European Politics.
