A Criminology degree is more than simply the study of criminals; it is multidisciplinary in its attempt to understand a range of problematic behaviours, and draws upon psychological, sociological, legal, economic and historical theories in its explanation. As a student on one of the Aberystwyth Criminology degrees, you will also consider the legal, social and historical reactions to deviancy and crime, and the impact upon victims and policy. The study of criminology develops critical thinking skills and the ability to analyse and reflect upon a range of theories. Graduates from our Criminology degrees go on to work in many different areas, including Criminal Law, offender rehabilitation, and specialist social work.
