The LLB Criminal Law degree at Aberystwyth University will introduce you to core legal concepts and also allow you to concentrate your studies in the specialist area of Criminal Law by choosing appropriate electives and/or writing a dissertation on a particular area of Criminal Law.
The LLB Criminal Law degree is a qualifying law degree: which means that graduates who wish to pursue a career in the legal profession are eligible to continue vocational training on the Legal Practice Course (LPC) for solicitors, or the Bar Vocational Course (BVC) for barristers.
Criminal Law Degrees and Employability
There are many employment prospects for graduates in law. The knowledge and skills acquired whilst studying for a degree in law equip students for the demands of many careers in politics and local government, business and the media as well as for entering either branch of the legal profession. For those graduates who wish to qualify as solicitors, Aberystwyth has its own Legal Practice Course within the Department of Law and Criminology. In addition, studying for LLB Criminal Law opens up opportunities for employment with the Police, Probation or Prison Services.
