Financial Matters
1. Fees
The fees for studying part-time are calculated pro-rata per module according to the full-time fees. For more information about fees, see the Finance Office Fees page.
2. Exemption from Tuition Fees
You are eligible for exemption from paying tuition fees if you satisfy the following criteria:
- You do not already have a first degree.
- You are studying part-time.
- You are registered with the University on a course of 10 credits or more, which will contribute towards a recognised undergraduate higher education qualification.
- You meet one of the personal criterial listed below.
- You or your partner/spouse receive of the following:
- Income Support
- Working Families Tax Credit (Family Credit)
- Jobseeker's Allowance
- Housing Benefit
- Council Tax Benefit
- You are a registered job seeker and have been so for a continuous period of no less than six weeks up to the date of this application.
- The only income to you or your family is Department
of Social Security Benefits.
- You or your partner/spouse receive of the following:
3. Aberystwyth University Members of Staff
Fees are waived for members of staff of the University, on a regular contract of salaried employment of at least 18 hours per week. You must already be employed by the University before applying for part-time study, and your application must have been discussed with and approved by your Head of Department. If you cease to be employed by the University during the course of your study, then you will become liable for part-time fees.
4. Financial Assistance
Student loans and other forms of financial assistance are available, depending upon personal circumstances and duration of part-time study.
