Part-Time Daytime Study
Your Commitment
One advantage of the University's part-time daytime study programme is that you can study at your own pace.
A 10 credit module at Level 1 requires in the region of 5-6 hours per week over a period of 12-15 weeks (one semester). This includes lectures, seminars, practical work, reading, essay-writing, project work and/or revision for examinations, depending upon the method of assessment.
Lectures and seminars take place during the day between 8 am and 6 pm. There are two semesters in the teaching year:
- Semester 1: September to January,
- Semester 2: February to June.
Depending upon timetable constraints, you may commence part-time study at the beginning of Semester 1 in September or the beginning of Semester 2 in February. Enrolment and registration procedures are the same as for full-time students and will be advised once your application is complete.
Facilities and Services
As a part-time daytime student, you will have access to all the facilities and support services at the University. Please note, however, that accommodation in University Residences is not available to part-time students. If you need to find private sector lodgings closer to the University, the services of our Accommodation Office will be available to you, once your place has been confirmed.
