General Information
Visiting Days
You are warmly invited to visit and find out more
After you Apply
If you make an application and receive an offer of a place from us, we will invite you to visit the University, so that you can obtain more useful information, meet staff and students, discuss any concerns and, equally importantly, get a feel for the place. Visiting days are especially organised to address your particular needs as an applicant and typically will include:
- Tour of the academic department
- Talk about course structures
- Talk about departmental facilities
- Personal or group interview *
- Opportunity to meet current students in your department
- Talk about University accommodation
- Opportunity to see University accommodation
- Campus tour
Some academic departments may be prepared to reduce their offer to you on the basis of a successful interview conducted on a visiting day.
If you make an application to us, further details about visiting days will be sent to you with your offer. Your family and friends will also be most welcome to accompany you, and we will do our best to make your visit a useful and enjoyable occasion. We will be able to reimburse your personal travelling expenses for journeys made within mainland UK (100% of your train/bus fare or 10p per mile if you travel by car). Please note: this refers to Visiting Days, not the Open Day.
