Campus Kids

Campus Kids aims to raise both the aspirations and the achievement of children in years 5 and 6 through providing a free, high quality and motivating week long programme of activities during the school holidays.

The scheme will target children living in the Communities First areas of Penparcau and Tregaron & the Uplands.

Educational activities will include a range of academic, cultural and physical experiences, through the medium of both English and Welsh.

Raising aspirations

A significant part of the programme will take place on the University campus, enabling children to feel comfortable and familiar with that environment. The programme makes use of trained student leaders who will act as role models to the children.

Raising achievement

Activities are designed to

• encourage children’s motivation to learn, through building the confidence to participate in new experiences and challenges,
• link learning and fun,
• develop essential social and communication skills,
• support the school curriculum in literacy and numeracy.
