Expanding Horizons Easter Revision Course - 2 - 5th April 2013

Improve your future in GCSE subjects - Maths, English, Welsh and Science.

Stay in a University, join in activities. This programme is designed for Year 11 who are not achieving full potential at present to raise their aspirations. It is designed to support and help you achieve grade C or above in the core curriculum subjects of Maths, English, Science and Welsh.  Attendance also allows you to experience a taste of what life at a University might be like.

You will be considered for a place if you are currently predicted below a C grade in any of the core subjects listed above.  If you are interested in attending the course you should approach the Head of Year 11 at your school and ask to be nominated.

Over 200 young people benefited from this scheme during Easter 2012.

Expanding Horizons gives you the opportunity to:

Costs

The course is FREE!

You will be provided with:

  • Revision books and past papers
  • Pens and paper
  • Full board for residential students, lunch for non-residential
  • Transport to and from your school (or convenient pick up point)
  • Full social programme

Where?

The programme is available at Aberystwyth University.  Places will be allocated in consultation with your school.

What?

Expanding Horizons is a residential revision course with each student choosing to study two of the four core subjects.  Each Subject is allocated 12 hours of teaching time.  There is also a programme of evening social and sporting activities.
