National Science & Engineering Week

Each year in March the Centre for Widening Participation provides a free hands-on science exhibition to mark Science and Engineering Week. The exhibition aims to
- provide an experience of science to reinforce and extend the school science curriculum
- provide enjoyable and interesting science based activities for school pupils.
- be accessible to as many schools in Ceredigion as possible
- provide a range of activities reflecting different scientific disciplines
2013: 19 - 21 March 2013
The theme for next years National Science and Engineering Week is 'Invention and Discovery'. The event will consist of:
- FREE to enter competitions
- Exciting Exhibits
- Finding out how the science departments here in Aberystwyth can entertain and educate pupils with exciting and innovative science.
2012
The theme for 2012 was "Our World in Motion". It took place in the Sports Cage Aberystwyth Main (Penglais) Campus with over 1500 school pupils from across Wales visiting.
2011
The Theme for 2011 was Communicating Science and had the title 'Tell us some Science'. It took place from Tuesday 15th to Thursday 17th March, in the Sports Cage Aberystwyth Main (Penglais) Campus.
2010
The theme for 2010 was Interactive Science 'Our Planet Earth' and took place from Tusday 16 to Thursday 18 March, in the Sports Cage Aberystwyth Main Campus.
2009
The theme for 2009 was 'Everything Changes' and took place on the 11th and 12th March, in the Great Hall, Arts Centre, Aberystwyth University.
2008
Science and Engineering Week 2008 was themed around 'The Big Question" and involved secondary schools in geographically remote areas of Ceredigion, Powys and Gwynedd.
2007
Science and Engineering Week 2007 was themed around “From Earth to Infinity” and AU involved secondary schools in geographically remote areas of Ceredigion, Powys and Gwynedd.
