Responsibilities

Debra is responsible for delivering Aberystwyth’s institutional Widening Access projects, including working with the local community (particularly the Welsh Assembly Government Communities First areas), in colleges and Primary and Secondary schools, and providing mentoring support to students within the University, as well as being the point of contact for care-leavers.

Profile

Dr Debra Croft was Projects’ Co-ordinator for the Centre for Widening Participation and Social Inclusion since January 2007, before taking over the Manager role in 2011. She has a BSc (I, Hons) from University of London (Royal Holloway) in Geology / Environmental Science, an MSc (dist) in Mining Geology (Exeter) and a PhD in Forensic Geoscience (London, 2003).

She has completed a post graduate certificate, Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, with the Open University, and is a member of the Higher Education Academy.
