Student Employment as Student leaders

As well as our University staff (full time, part-time and sessional), the Centre for Widening Participation and Social Inclusion employs a wide pool of current students to work on our projects each year.  They act as role models and mentors, providing assistance to and support for School-aged young people, or to support tutors in the community.  All of our leaders are interviewed, referenced, trained and CRB checked. We also offer additional First Aid training and a personal development plan.

For the Students it provides numerous and varied opportunities throughout the year to improve their skills, both in the University and out at schools, colleges and community locations.  For those wanting to pursue teaching, youth or social work, or explore the possibilities of doing this, it is especially valuable and it enables them to enhance their C.V. and skills in this area - essential for postgraduate work and employment.
