Special Offer! - HALF PRICE!

SECOND EDITION TWICE THE SIZE!

If you never got around to subscribing to the new Second Edition of the Dictionary, don't worry, it isn't too late. You can get the six parts that have already been published for half the usual price!

Geiriadur Prifysgol Cymru was first published over half a century ago. Since then there has been an extraordinary growth in the use of Welsh in literature and the media, and especially in education and administration. At the same time Welsh scholarship has developed greatly and a host of important editions have been published, such as the work of Dafydd ap Gwilym.

The dictionary staff are currently completely re-editing the earliest parts (A-B), adding totally new words and new meanings for existing words. In the first six parts 1,600 new words have been added, together with over 300 new combinations and over 22,000 new illustrative quotations. This part of the dictionary will double in size. In effect, this is a new work, not just a second edition.

These new parts will be indispensable to everyone who uses the language.

Available from your local bookseller or from the sources below:

'A Dictionary of words only can answer no important end; for one may be acquainted with all the words in a Language' and yet be an entire stranger to it's genius.' -- John Walters, An English-Welsh dictionary, 1794.
