Brief description
An independent research project carried out in a research area related to one of the semester two modules.

Learning outcomes
On completion of this module, students will be able to

formulate research designs
undertake independent fieldwork and necessary liaison (where appropriate and necessary)
undertake appropriate laboratory analysis
interpret data
analyse data
demonstrate their knowledge of the theoretical principles of scientific research
formulate research hypotheses
search relevant databases
place research in appropriate wider contexts
use a full range of C&IT tools
present a 20 minute seminar paper
present a research poster
work to a tight schedule
