Brief description
This course will consider 'postmodernism' in a number of its guises in various genres. It will focus on issues of texutal reflexivity, its connection to 'modernism', whether or not it is a 'style' or historical term. Authors who will be studied will include Pynchon, Auster, Rushdie, the "Language" poets, Carter, Greenaway, William Gibson.
