Brief description
This module offers a comparative history of the politics, economic development , societies and cultures of the two largest English-speaking democracies since c. 1850. The module compares the history of both countries on a chronological basis, covering the late Victorian period; the 'Progressive/Liberal eras; the First World War and the 1920s; the Depression; the Second World War; the Cold War and contemporary eras. The module concludes by examining questions of comparative history.
