Aims
This module will survey the various attempts that have been made to secure some measure of self-government for Wales from the era of Cymru Fydd in the final years of the 19th Century to the present day. The module will analyse the details of the various plans which have been put forward (for example, the particular governmental arrangements suggested), as well as the nature of the political support enjoyed by them. Particular attention will be paid to the plans which were the focus of the referendums of 1979 and 1997.
