General description
This module is intended to help a student pursue mathematical or statistical investigations working as independently as possible of direct instruction, and to report coherently on his/her investigations. The area of mathematics investigated will beof the student's own choice. The particular topic will be chosen in consultation with a supervisor whom the student will see for at most one hour per week. The main purpose of these 'tutorials' is to ensure that progress on the project has not been impeded by difficulties or misunderstandings and to make such suggestions as seem appropriate.
This module is not available for M Math students, in view of the substantial amount of project work required of them in their fourth year.
