General description
This module is intended to help a final year M Math student pursue mathematical or statistical investigations working as independently as possible of direct instruction, and to report coherently on his/her investigations. The particular topic will be chosen in consultation with a supervisor whom the student will see for at most one hour per week. The main purpose of these 'tutorials' is to ensure that progress on the project has not been impeded by difficulties or misunderstandings and to make such suggestions as seem appropriate.

To give the student experience of independent study of a topic in Mathematics or Statistics.
