Brief description
This module is aimed primarily at students of Business Studies, Accounting and Computer Science, while it is also required to study for Single Honours Spanish students. It offers an introduction to the linguistic registers of business and current affairs and seeks to provide students with practical vocabulary in such areas as accountancy, banking, stock exchange and the organization of business enterprises. Use will be made of authentic current affairs materials and the module aims to develop practical written skills, including the writing of letters, reports and summaries.

Syllabus
Weeks 1-12

12 weekly classes for the study of the course book and other selected materials. 6 fortnightly classes, for which written assignments must be submitted.

Learning outcomes
On completion of this module students should have:

1) developed their knowledge of the Spanish language to a high level, particularly with regard to their oral and written communicative skills
2) developed confidence in their ability to communicate in front of others and to construct a logical and persuasive discourse in Spanish
