Brief description
The aim of this option module is:
1. To identify the main themes in the political and legal history in the period, taking account of instructive similarities and contrasts with the experience of other peoples.
2. To examine the main institutions by which society was ordered and to identify elements of continuity and change, conflict and coalescence.
3. To develop an awareness of the source materials on which historical interpretation is founded and to develop a critical approach to historical study.
