Brief description

The module teaches the principles and develops the skills associated with effective communication and presentation. These skills will have application in the context not only of academic study at levels 2 and 3 but also of employment.

Aims:

The module aims to:

provide a core Level 2 module that teaches skills fundamental to communication in an academic and vocational context
in particular, provide instruction in topics such as: oral communication and presentation, group participation, leadership techniques, motivated learning, problem solving, time management, IT, information access and storage, and career development
impart a basis of skills that will be developed and applied in the context of Fine Art and Art History modules
supplement and complement the study skill teaching provided by AH10210 Research, Writing, and Study (Semester 2)
