Brief description
The module provides an opportunity to produce an illustrated book through to the printed stage, including the design, typography and layout.
Aims:
The aims of this module to:

Encourage students to work in a self-directed manner.

Develop a strategic way of working, evident in a wide range of explorative, draft designs

Engage a chosen text in an imaginative and receptive manner

Enter in a fruitful dialogue with the tutor, analogous to the artists/client relationship

Consider the implications of the mode of production on the process or evolution of the design

Work to prescribed deadlines, as in the professional field
Objectives:
At the end of the course the student should possess : -

A degree of independence and mature decision making attitude.

A completed and reproducable design that is the product of evident development

An ability to communicate orally ideas around their work through the valuable experience of group participation.
