Brief description

The module gives students the opportunity to work on a single or small group of works in any medium over a two semester period.

Aims:

The module aims to:

provide a context for an extended study in self-directed art practice
challenge you to work within a prescribed time frame
encourage a consciousness of a work’s evolution and a diagnostic approach to image making
encourage a productive, individual, and imaginative interpretation of subject matter
enable student to produce work exhibiting conceptual, technical, and methodological coherence, and stylistic sophistication

Objectives:

By the end of the module you are expected to:

have sustained a programme of practice resulting in work(s) that:
has made full use of the time frame
has an accompanying chart of their development
demonstrates critical cognisance
demonstrates resolution at all levels
