After studying this module you should be able to:

• make screening decisions based on the guidelines of a funding agency;

• scope the important variables for a wide range of proposed developments overseas;

• use the Lee and Colley package to review an environmental impact statement;

• perform a very simple cost-benefit analysis looking at the relative costs of travelling to work;

• understand the important principles involved in tendering for an environmental impact assessment;

• determine the requirements for the effective implementation of Environmental Impact Assessment within a developing country, based on the administrative and training needs in the country.
