Brief description

The module is intended for students with an AS level (or equivalent) in German, an increasing number of whom will be entering university from 2002. It is tailored to the specific linguistic competence of these students, providing revision and consolidation of AS level work, while it aims to move them forward towards a high 'A' level competency. Together with GE11520, the module is designed to stimulate the number of students following an Honours degree in German.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this module students should have consolidated their oral and written skills in German and have developed these to a level comparable with a high 'A' level grade. They should have developed confidence in their ability to communicate in teh target language, both in speech and in a variety of written registers.
