Objectives

At the end of the module, students should be:

fully conversant with their research topic
able to explain the main argument of their research topic in a seminar presentation and to respond to any subsequent questions
to actively participate in seminars, contributing ideas and constructive comments to discussions of other students' work
to submit this work in written form, adequately presented and referenced
to sustain and defend an argument.

Aims

This module is only available to students at Coleg Harlech in the third term of their first year.

The aims of the module are to:

discuss in greater detail and depth issues rasied in the module's pre-requisite IP10210
to develop students' research skills
to develop students' debating and oral presentation skills
to develop students' skills in planning and time management
to develop students' ability to structure and develop an argument
to allow students to explore issues of interest to them through a structured format which encourages intellectual
