Aims and objectives

This module is the core module for students on the MScEcon Degree or Diploma (RT pathway) in Security Studies.

This module explores the `critical' turn in thinking about security. In particular, it addresses the broader security agenda of contemporary world politics; the philosophical assumptions of different world views about security, community and emancipation; and the implication of traditional versus alternative practices of security in different regions, institutions and issue-areas.
