Brief description

The module uses urbanisation as a perspective from which to approach social change in modern Wales and thus examines the obverse of the phenomenon, rural depopulation as well as more standard aspects of town growth, such as health issues, crime, housing, residential and class segregation, civic consciousness and planning. The urban experience of Wales is broadly located within the wider framework of similar changes in the rest of the western world, most especially in Britain.
